Bendigo Biorefinery

C-Loops second project sits centrally north of Melbourne in Victoria, about 150 km north of Melbourne CBD. Situated in the Loddon Mallee region it is a major regional center with a rich gold rush history. Outside the city itself, the region boasts diverse agricultural operations from dryland farming, horticulture, dairy, livestock and poultry, and is now a center for modern farming innovation and research, with a focus on sustainability.

Jobs for the local community

C-Loop’s biorefinery will employ approximately 8 full time local staff and contractors to support the day-to-day management of the biorefinery.

Baseload renewable energy production

The biorefinery will generate of 31,000MW of baseload renewable electricity each year used onsite behind the meter.

Sustainable food-grade CO2

The biorefinery will generate ~ 10,000t of Sustainable Food Grade CO2 each year.

Chorella production

Up to 300 tonnes per annum of high value micro algae (Chlorella) will be cultivated within a controlled, bio secure sustainable environment.

Renewable heat production

The biorefinery will produce 120,000 GJ renewable heat per annum which will be used onsite.

Carbon abatement

This project will produce Victorian Energy Efficient Certificates (VEEC’s) representing 35,000 t-CO2eq abetment from the project per annum.

Organic waste processing

35,000 tonnes of organic waste will be processed annually though the biorefinery.
