Waste Expo 2025 - Event Wrap Up

Our team had an incredible time at this year’s Waste Expo in Melbourne. The energy and enthusiasm across the two days was truly inspiring and provided a wonderful opportunity to network with industry peers, connect with exhibitors, and learn from the many innovative companies shaping the future of our sector.

A key highlight for the team was hearing our Chief Operating Officer, Georgette Godbolt, deliver her presentation titled “Biorefineries – Circular Opportunities for Waste-to-Energy.” Georgette explored how we can transform waste streams from linear bioenergy models by developing Biorefineries - an innovative approach patented by C-Loop that generates circular outcomes and strong financial returns. Her presentation demonstrated how the sector can become more resilient in a time, ash she said: “Waste is a resource to be fully valorised… the system needs to work smarter, not harder”.

The session focused on the practical framework for developing and delivering biorefineries, presenting a globally applicable pathways to enhance the waste-to-energy sector. It sparked fantastic networking discussions, given its strong relevance to Australia’s transition to more sustainable waste solutions, and the broader global opportunities for existing facilities such as wastewater treatment plants, or other bioenergy plants to be retrofitted to deliver stronger sustainable and financial outcomes as Biorefineries.

Beyond the presentations, the C-Loop team thoroughly enjoyed reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new collaborators. The conversations and connections made throughout the event will no doubt fuel exciting partnerships and ideas in the months to come.

We’re already looking forward to Waste Expo 2026, and we can’t wait to see everyone again for another round of innovation, collaboration, and inspiration.
